Justice Lagamon’s Son Seeks Top Seat in IBP-MisOr Polls 2011

A son of Associate Justice Alfredo Lagamon, Sr. and a high profile CPA-lawyer is now gunning for the highest seat in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Misamis Oriental Chapter (IBP-MisOr) in its coming elections next month.
IBP-MisOr president Atty. Dale Bryan B. Mordeno disclosed yesterday that Atty. Alphon R. Lagamon has recently expressed his intentions to run for IBP-MisOr president in their upcoming polls scheduled this February 26, 2011.
Mordeno said he is very glad that Lagamon has decided to accept the challenge.
“Kini siya ug ang mga kandidato nga mga kauban niya kabalo gyud motarbaho para mapadayon ang among kinatibuk-an nga damgo sa atong IBP-MisOr (Lagamon and those candidates who are running with him are those I know who would really work and continue our one dream for our IBP-MisOr),” Mordeno added.
He added that the young Lagamon is also a Certified Public Account who formerly worked for the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and is now counted as among the successful law practitioners in the city.
Meanwhile, IBP-MisOr incumbent board director Atty. Robert W. Raypon is running for Vice-President  together Lagamon in this poll race. Raypon is a Scintilla member and a professor at both XU-Law and Liceo de Cagayan de Oro College of Law.
The other candidates include: Atty. Katherine Leyson-Galera for Secretary, Atty. Sergio Yap for Treasurer, Atty. Rex Raagas for Auditor and Atty. Mylen Geroy for Public Relations Officer (PRO).
The following are the candidates for board of directors: Atty. Jose Mari V. Perdices, Atty. Mylene Durano, Atty. Kristine Chavez, Atty. Cirilo Neil Pacana and Atty. Joel Dexter Nagtalon.
Records show that Lagamon, Raypon, Nagtalon and Pacana are members of the Fraternitas Scintilla Legis, one of the huge fraternities founded at Xavier University-College of Law (XU-Law). Its members include Atty. Mordeno, Court of Appeals Associate Justice Romulo Borja, Jr., RTC Branch Judge Jose Yamut, RTC Judge Dennis Alcantar, MTCC Branch 1 Judge Cesar Merlas including IBP-MisOr past presidents Atty. Arnold Barba and City Councilor Atty. Adrian Barba to mention a few.
Meanwhile, Atty. Leyson-Galera and Atty. Geroy are with the Portia Sorority in XU-Law and Liceo-Law. Its members including RTC Judge Crislyn Batar, RTC Judge Evelyn Nery, RTC Judge Eleuteria Algodon, MCTC Judge Michelia O. Capadocia, Assistant Regional State Prosecutor Eldred Cole, Department of Energy Usec. Atty. Armi Jane Borje and former City Councilor now City Legal Officer Atty. Maryanne Enteria among others.
